Binay, Estrada to attend Gwen's SOPA
CEBU, Philippines - Vice President Jejomar Binay and other members of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) are set to attend the State of the Province Address (SOPA) of Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia on July 20.
Also attending are Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and son, Cagayan Rep. Jack Enrile, former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada and son, San Juan City Rep. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito.
This was revealed by Mayor Ramon “Boy” Durano Jr. yesterday.
He added that before going to the SOPA, Binay and his partymates will be visiting Cebu Mitsumi to observe the working condition of around 25,000 workers.
The party will also visit Danao City Public Market to also observe its condition.
“Motan-aw sa market kondisyon basin makatabang pud siya,” said Mayor Durano. (He will see the condition of the market to know how he can help.)
Gov. Garcia said she will do her best to join the party in their visit to Danao City.
Garcia is among the senatorial bets of UNA together with Jack and Ejecito.
For the first time, Garcia’s SOPA will be held at the Cebu International Convention Center at 3 p.m.
Traditionally, the SOPA is held at the Capitol Social Hall.
Garcia said considering that this will be her last SOPA, she invited other sectors who have helped in the development of the Province of Cebu.
These include the barangay captains, councilors, health workers, barangay nutrition scholars, day care workers, barangay tanods, womens associations, fisherfolks and farmers group.
Garcia described them as “unsung heroes.’
“Para nako mao ni ang labing haum ug tukma nga higayun nga makapasalamat ko nila sa ilang pakig-abagnako ning atong pa-ningkamot nga mouswaggyudangprobinsiya sa Sugbo,” Garcia said. (This is the perfect time to thank them for the help and cooperation in our effort to bring progress to the Province of Cebu.)
Garcia is on her last term as governor. (FREEMAN)
