No sex, just drug session - Capitol lawyer
CEBU, Philippines - A laywer of the Cebu Provincial Government denied speculations that the employee and a female companion caught sniffing drugs in one of the offices also had sex.
Lawyer Lito Astillero, head of Capitol’s Committee on Discipline and Investigation, said they retrieved the footage of the closed-circuit televesion camera inside the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) and it did not show Cirilo “Junjun” Abrenica and his female companion having sex.
“That is one of the matters included in our investigation, actually. And wala’y nakita sa camera (that they did it),” Astillero told The FREEMAN.
The footage showed Abrenica and the woman “preparing for the drug session.”
Abrenica and the woman escaped from the security guards who discovered their session at dawn of June 28.
But the guards recovered the drug paraphernalia they were using.
Capitol has implemented the 90-day preventive suspension against Abrenica and cohort Cyril Solita.
Astillero said they have given Abrenica, PPDO Admin III officer, and Solita, laborer, until Monday to file their counter-affidavit.
Solita’s contract expired last June 30 but CODI still implemented his 90-day suspension.
“As a matter of course na lang. It will still reflect on his work record. It might affect him in case he applies in other government offices,” Astillero said.
Astillero added if not for his misdemeanor, Solita’s contract would have been renewed. Solita has been working for Capitol since October 1998.
The lawyer said they are assisting Fuente Police Station in filing criminal charges against the two Capitol employees. —(FREEMAN)
