PRO-7 to monitor "drug pushing" cop
CEBU, Philippines - The Police Regional Office (PRO) –7 says it will keep an eye on the policeman who was suspected of being an illegal drug supplier in Cebu Province despite his being transferred already to another region.
PRO-7 director Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo Jr. said they will continue to monitor the said policeman.
“He is no longer under our jurisdiction but we will continue to check on him,” Garbo said.
The policeman who has the rank of a Senior Police Office 4 was earlier tagged by a drug suspect in Talisay City as his supplier. The policeman, previously assigned in Cebu City, has three other police in cahoots. The drug suspect however withdrew his accusation later.
The same report also shows that one of the three policemen reportedly sent death threats through text messages to a police station chief after two of their drug pushers were arrested.
Garbo said the police officer is now assigned in Police Regional Office 8.
Suspected drug pusher Albert “Apar” Salem, 42, resident of Sitio Galaxy, Barangay Tangke, Talisay City, earlier said that a policeman with a rank of SPO4 is supplying him drugs. But Salem recanted his statement after it has created a controversy in the media.–(FREEMAN)
