CEBU, Philippines - A 13-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a motorcycle mechanic early morning last Sunday in Alegria town, Cebu.
The girl was reportedly sleeping beside her two older brothers when the suspect, Roniel Donisa, groped her private parts.
Had not one of her brothers been awakened by the urge to relieve himself, Donisa might not have been caught.
Donisa reportedly arrived in Alegria from Iloilo two weeks ago. The owner of the automotive shop decided to let him stay for the meantime because he had no place to stay while he was looking for his relatives in Barangay Bato, Oslob town.
Donisa was arrested by the barangay tanods and was turned over to the Alegria police.
He was detained at the Alegria police stockade. However, he is set to be released today after the parents of the girl refused to file a case against him.
SPO1 Geraldine Capangpangan, of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk of the Alegria Police Station, said the girl, a native of Badian town, went to the automotive shop in Alegria to visit her brothers.
Capangpangan said the girl decided to stay with her brothers that night and planned to return home the next day.
“Grabe man gyud kay wa gyud diay siya’y kalibutan hasta ang maguwang nga gihilabtan na diay ang bata,” the WCPD chief said.
A stress debriefing was scheduled yesterday by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. (FREEMAN)
