CEBU, Philippines - The bogus plastic surgeon earlier arrested in entrapment operation for illegal practice of medicine was released from police custody after posting P90,000 bail for her temporary liberty.
Gloria Rabor bailed herself out of detention using a surety bond on Monday after the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office has found probable cause to charge her in court.
Rabor was indicted for estafa, illegal possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal practice of medicine. Assistant city prosecutor Mario Ley Gidayawan recommended a total of P90,000 bail for the three charges.
Rabor was arrested Wednesday last week during an entrapment operation following a complaint filed by two of her victims.
The complainants who are from Bohol said the accused passed herself off as a licensed plastic surgeon. One of the complainants said she first had a nose lift with Rabor in February.
Feeling satisfied with the result, the complainant came back together with her friend to have their buttocks enhanced. However, two weeks after the operation the complainants suffered infections.
In fact, one of the complainants who is now in Australia was confined at the hospital because of the infection.
One of the complainants said she paid P128,000 to Rabor to perform the illegal operation on her butt.
The police found out from the Professional Regulations Commission that Rabor is not a licensed plastic surgeon.— (FREEMAN)
