2 men arrested for selling, using shabu

CEBU, Philippines - Two men were arrested for selling and sniffing shabu in separate drug operations in Bogo City and Cordova.

In Bogo, the suspect, a collector of a branch of Rhine Marketing in Bogo City, was arrested in a buy-bust operation last Friday afternoon.

Police described Iñigo Sumayang Dionela, 37, a “newbie” in the illegal drug trade. Dionela is a resident of Sitio Banacan, Barangay La Purisima Concepcion, Bogo City.

Chief Insp. Ceferino Tabay, chief of the Bogo City police force, said Dionela was under surveillance for a week before the bust was carried out around 5pm last Friday.

Tabay said they arrested Dionela at his house right after the poseur buyer completed the transaction. Twenty small packets of shabu worth P5,000 was confiscated from him.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was arrested by the Cordova police last Saturday evening after he was caught sniffing shabu in Barangay Ibabao.

The suspect, Ariel Ma-loloy-on, was the only one arrested among those involved in the pot session.

PO2 Dennis Camonay of the Cordova Police Station said it was around 8 p.m. when they received a call informing them about the pot session in the barangay. The police reached the area around 8:30 p.m.

Confiscated from him were four small packets of shabu and P200 cash.

The pieces of evidence recovered during the two operations were submitted to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory-7 in Camp Sotero Cabahug for chemical analysis.
