CEBU, Philippines - While it’s true that the Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) is already going around the barangays, the group has yet to come up with a final line up of candidates councilors, Cebu City South District Rep. Tomas R. Osmeña clarified.
That, as Camputhaw Barangay Captain Lorenzo Basamot denied that they plan to bolt BOPK, saying that he and his councilmen remain solid supporters of the group.
Osmeña statement was in response to reports that Basamot was excluded as one of the BOPK’s probable candidates for councilors in the north district.
As for Basamot, he explained that he was not seen going around with the group for the last few days not because he was slighted, as rumors said, by unpleasant remarks from their BOPK leaders.
Reports said that BOPK asked Basamot to refrain from going around with the group since Osmeña is unlikely to choose him to fill a spot for the council candidates in the north district.
Basamot said he was just on-leave for the past few days. He said that he had to undergo operation recently in his leg after he got injured from playing basketball.
Basamot reportedly expressed his desire to run for councilor in the north district under BOPK but he is tightlipped about it.
Team Rama, though, said that their slate is already complete and is awaiting the perfect timing to announce them. (FREEMAN)
