CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested five people for allegedly using illegal drugs while in Balamban, 243 fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted.
In Consolacion, Servillano Azucena Mercado, 41 years old and a collector at a lending firm and Joveniana Catubay Bactol, 42, were caught in the act of having a pot session at about 11 o’clock in the morning at Pulpogan, Consolation, Cebu.
The police said the rest of those who joined the pot session were able to escape.
Seized from them were a lighter, tinfoils with improvised tooter and six small heat sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
A member of the barangay intelligent network reported to the police that another group was also having a pot session somewhere near the area.
The police immediately responded and were able to arrest Marie Malonjao Yap, 37 years old of Riverside, Poblacion Oriental, Consolacion, Cebu. She was caught in the act of sniffing shabu. Seized from her were three small sachets containing crystalline substance believed to be shabu. She placed the items in a container which she threw upon seeing the police.
The pieces of evidence were submitted to the Regional Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis. The suspects are detained at the Consolacion Police Station.
In Argao, the authorities filed yesterday a complaint before the Provincial Prosecutors’ Office against three suspects for violation of Article II of Section 12 of RA 9165.
Audy Solis Relacion, 31, Pol Andrew Ricablanca Modelo, 21 years old, and Raymund Camasura Sayson were arrested for sniffing shabu at Barangay Langtad, Argao, Cebu.
The police recovered the paraphernalia that they used in sniffing shabu.
The suspects are now detained at the Argao Police Station. However, the police said that the suspects are expected to post bail.
Meanwhile in Balamban, 243 fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted by the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) during an operation against a certain Boboy of Sitio Malingin, Barangay Gaas. (FREEMAN)
