CEBU, Philippines - Two foreigners and a Filipino teenager lost their electronic gadgets and money while drinking in Barangay Kasambagan dawn last Wednesday.
The victims were identified as Korean Jinyeoh Suh, 20, Lee Jordan Edwards, 19, a British National, and a Filipino teenager. They were drinking with another friend who is said to be the suspect in the theft.
The Freeman is witholding the name of the suspect pending investigation results.
The three victims and the suspect were drinking because it was the suspect’s birthday at that time. However, around 4am, the suspect left the three and returned almost an hour later, saying he had to attend to an important matter.
Later still, the three victims went back to their boarding house located nearby and discovered that their things and money have been stolen.
Police said the Korean lost close to P90,000 worth of gadgets and cash including a laptop, an iPhone and a smart phone; Korean bills amounting to almost P2,000; and peso bills worth P6,000. Edwards, on the other hand, lost his laptop worth 400 British pounds (about P30, 000) and a Timex wristwatch. The Filipino minor lost his Xbox 360 amounting to P30,000.
The victims asked around and found out that a man was lurking around their boarding house earlier before they arrived. Witnesses reportedly described the man as having similar features as their friend, the birthday celebrator. (FREEMAN)
