3 men arrested for drugs

CEBU, Philippines - Three men were arrested for allegedly using shabu during a saturation drive in Sitio Maraat, Barangay Matab-ang, Toledo City, last Saturday.

Toledo City policemen arrested Jeremy Alvarado Curamino, 20, and Joel Alegada Seban, 31, both from Barangay Ilihan, Toledo City; and Jolly Ablao Mondia, 32, of Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.

The couple that owned the house where the three were arrested using drugs, Berting and Nene Toquero, were able to escape and are still at large.

Seized from the suspects were various drug paraphernalia and 16 small transparent empty plastic sachet containing traces of suspected shabu.

Police said that they already conducted several raids on the house but it was just last Saturday when they were able to apprehend the suspects since they used the back door. 

During previous raids, they passed through the front door and alerted suspects who escaped out the back.

Police also added that the owners of the house were given several warnings already by the police since they received reports that they are selling and using illegal drugs.

Those arrested are now detained in the Toledo City Police Station while the police already sent a subpoena to the Toqueros.

“If they will not show up, the judge will issue a warrant of arrest, then we will hunt and arrest them,” SPO4 Joseph Mangle said.

Sitio Maraat is a known hotspot for illegal drug activities.  (FREEMAN)
