Laborer stabbed several times

CEBU, Philippines - A laborer who was reportedly buying his dinner was stabbed by a co-worker late last Saturday night.

Ranito Manto, 29, a stay-in worker at M&L Builders in Barangay Pit-os, Cebu City, was buying a pack of instant noodles around 11 pm when he reportedly heard a certain Ivan say offensive words against him.

Ivan was drinking with his friends at the same store where Manto was buying the noodles.

This reportedly resulted in a brief argument between the two men and Manto walked back to his sleeping quarters.

Moments later, however, the suspect followed Manto to the quarters and stabbed him on the back using an ice pick.

Manto fought back until his co-worker intervened, but Ivan still managed to stab him a couple more times on the chest. Manto ran away from the suspect with the ice pick still stuck on his chest.

Manto went to his manager, Nestor Pacquiao, who rushed him to the hospital.

The suspect remains at large. — (FREEMAN)
