Woman dies in Carcar accident

CEBU, Philippines - A woman died while her companion was injured in a vehicular accident yesterday morning in Sitio Awayan, Poblacion-3 Carcar City, Cebu.

Christine Villamora, 21, was driving a red and black Honda Wave motorcycle with plate number 7670 YE with Hirmes Tatoy, 18, when they met the accident on their way to a fiesta in Barangay Laun-Laun, Poblacion-1.

According to SPO3 Jora Tanudtanud of the Carcar Police Station, Villamora lost control of the motorcycle while running a curve near the Gaisano Carcar in Sitio Awayan. The motorcycle fell and the victims were thrown at the gutter of the cemented road.

Tanudtanud told The FREEMAN that Villamora just learned how to drive, as narrated to him by Villamora’s father.

The victims were taken to the Carcar District Hospital where Villamora was declared dead. Tatoy was transferred to a hospital in Cebu City for further medication. — (FREEMAN)
