Policewomen running these desks are also tasked to protect the identities of women and children who are involved in sensitive cases.
“We give information to the media but limited lang,” Yosores said.
There are 95 policewomen assigned to the CPPO but only 50 of them are assigned to Women’s and Children’s Protection Desks.
As of now only the Tudela Police Station does not have a policewoman. Diotay said the WCPD officer of the station resigned and they are still looking for a replacement.
“Until now wa pa mi ka-fill up kay we are also checking the accessibility of the person to be assigned,” Diotay said.
The awarding was held in observance of the end of Women’s Month. (FREEMAN)
