CEBU, Philippines - The Bureau of Internal Revenue-Region No. 13 in Cebu City kicked off their 2012 tax campaign yesterday at the 4th floor of SM City Cebu Trade Hall.
With the theme “I love Philippines, I Pay Taxes,” the said event was spearheaded by BIR Deputy Commissioner Lilia Guillermo and BIR-Region No. 13 Director Rodita Galanto.
Highlights of the program included a briefing on the new BIR income tax returns for 1700, 1701 and 1702, which will be used for tax filing on the April 15 deadline.
Aside from this, they also conducted a regional raffle draw of the “Premyo sa Resibo” promo, as well as the pledges of support from various VAT and non VAT taxpayers.
BIR set a P1.066 trillion target collection for 2012.
In order to achieve this goal, BIR will be intensifying its campaign on tax information as well as introducing the use of modern technology so that taxpayers can pay their taxes online. (FREEMAN)
