Househelp steals from ex-IBP president
CEBU, Philippines - Former Integrated Bar of the Philippines - Cebu Chapter president Alex Tolentino lost almost P150,000 cash on Tuesday allegedly stolen by their own helpers.
Tolentino’s wife, Ellen, 60, reported the incident to the Cebu City Police Office Theft and Robbery Section after they discovered that P137,000 was missing from their cabinet. Ellen believes that the incident happened at around 9 p.m. when they were out of their house.
A team headed by PO3 Mark Betonio inspected the victim’s residence for any evidence which could lead investigators to the perpetrators.
However, the Tolentinos claim that their four house helpers could be behind the thievery.
Following this claim, the police arrested the four. The police are still investigating the incident. — (FREEMAN)
