Bogo City barangays receive aid from Rep. Salimbangon

-

CEBU, Philippines - Fourth district Rep. Benhur Salimbangon is pouring out financial assistance from his Priority Development Assistance Fund to some barangays in the bailiwick of his political nemesis, Bogo City Mayor Celestino “Junie” Martinez Jr.

Salimbangon recently gave P250,000 financial assistance each to Barangays Malingin, Udlot, Pandan and Lourdes in Bogo City.

Salimbangon also gave one multicab each to Barangays Udlot, Lourdes, Guadalupe and Libertad.

A covered court amounting to P3.5 million is now nearing completion in Libertad. Bogo City is considered the bailiwick of the Martinezes. Salimbangon’s sister Mariquita Salimbangon-Yeung lost to Junie in the mayoralty race during the 2010 elections.

Barangay officials in Bogo City did not receive financial assistance from Salimbangon before for fear of getting the ire of the Martinez.

Salimbangon said he wanted to give assistance to all barangays in his district regardless of who they voted for in the past elections.

Over the weekend, Salimbangon distributed burial assistance to 133 recipients in the district at P3,000 each. Nine in Santa Fe, three in Madridejos, five in Tabuelan, five in Tabogon, 12 in Bogo City, 52 in Medellin and 52 also in Daanbantayan.

Salimbangon also turned over one multicab each to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) training centers in Daanbantayan and Medellin.

He also announced an on-going road concreting projects in the national highways of Libjo, Tabogon and Tabuelan-San Remigio road. — (FREEMAN)
