Teen jailed for smoking marijuana
CEBU, Philippines - A 19-year-old man was detained at the Fuente Police Station after roving policemen chanced upon him while in the act of smoking marijuana at around 2 a.m. yesterday in front of Mango Square Mall along General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City.
The suspect identified as Aristotle Hipolito, a resident of Sitio Taup, barangay Cogon Ramos, Cebu City was caught in the act of smoking a cigarette believed to be marijuana.
Roving policemen recovered from his possession three hand-rolled cigarettes containing crushed and dried marijuana leaves.
The police were conducting their roving in the area at around 2 a.m. when they spotted the suspect.
Hipolito was arrested for violation of Section 11 of the Dangerous Drugs Act particularly the provisions on possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia.
If found guilty, Hipolito will be meted with life imprisonment and a fine ranging from 500,000 to 10 million pesos. — (FREEMAN)
