Rep. Radaza hits Santiago

- Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon -

CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City Rep. Arturo Radaza broke his silence and accused Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas assistant Ombudsman Virginia Palanca-Santiago of being biased against him.

Radaza said that he is happy and relieved that all the cases filed against him by businessman Efrain Pelaez were already dismissed.

The most recent was the dismissal of a criminal case by the Sandiganbayan Second Division over accusations that Radaza’s demolition of the causeway of Pelaez in Barangay Agus was illegal.

The case was dismissed for lack of factual basis last January 10.

Radaza said that it is clear that the cases Pelaez filed against him were purely political harassment as the latter ran for city mayor during the 2010 national and local elections but lost to his wife, Paz.

Nobody answered Santiago’s cellular phone when The FREEMAN tried to call her several times for her reactions.

Radaza complained in other cases filed against him such as the computer scam in Lapu-Lapu City and the alleged overpricing of the 2007 ASEAN lampposts, Santiago has always been biased against him.

The congressman added that he still has to face the arraignment of the lamppost case on Thursday.

“Kaming mga walay labot ang giduot gyud aning kasuha,” said Radaza, who was suspended as city mayor because of the controversy. (FREEMAN)
