Guv denies One Cebu-Rama announcement
CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said the news report that announced she will be one with Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama in One Cebu Party is untrue.
“I think the reporter overstepped himself because that was all about being in one boat - everything was said in jest and that was not even the time to talk about politics,” she said.
The governor said, though, that One Cebu will not be adverse to the idea of tying up with Rama but the reporter should have not linked it to the very solemn activity that they were in that time. Garcia and Rama were in one boat during the Sinulog fluvial procession last week.
Based on that, a report from another newspaper said that Garcia and Rama will join forces in the 2013 elections.
“I find that entirely in bad taste that they should link our being together because of one big activity and then put in politics there,” Garcia said. — (FREEMAN)
