Man throws urine at call center agents

- Belle Valerie P. Manatad -

CEBU, Philippines - Two call center agents fell victim to an allegedly depressed man who showered them with urine yesterday morning at Barangay Apas, Asia Town I.T Park, Cebu City.

Mary Eden Magtoto, 25, of Barangay Labangon, and Dawn Baorinas, 23, of Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City, were bathed with the urine of a man identified only as a certain Elmer.

The victims said they were on their way home and did not notice the man when he attacked them around 7 a.m. They later learned that the suspect was tailing them.

“Ang mga guards kay gisungog pa siya nga daghan ra daw ang ihi para sa urinalysis.” said Magtoto. (The guards even mocked him that one liter of urine was too much for urinalysis.)

Still soaked in urine, the victims sought help from the guard of a nearby coffee shop, who advised them to check their surveillance camera.     Investigators said it was only then that the victims recognized the man as an acquaintance they only identified as Elmer.

“Elmer was the boyfriend of our former workmate who was terminated,” Magtoto said.

She recalled that they earlier met with a certain Eric in one of the company’s gatherings, adding that he was clueless why the victim attacked them. She added that Elmer was not alone when he perpetuated the attack, adding that the coffee shops surveillance camera also caught another person with the suspect.

The shop’s guard also saw the suspect, and his companion, Joan Noel, minutes before the incident. Police say that Noel was terminated from his work only last Monday.

The police are still conducting further investigation on the incident, adding that the attack might be because of personal grudges related to their work. — (FREEMAN)
