Policeman faces probe over threats
CEBU, Philippines - A police officer is being investigated after he allegedly threatened his rival in a ball game last Saturday evening.
Police Officer 1 Ranel Gadiano, assigned at the Regional public Safety Company in Sibonga, was accused by his neighbor Ryan Bucao of threatening him during a basketball tournament in Sitio Cadicay, Barangay Lawaan III, Talisay City.
Bucao, 24, said he was playing with Gadiano’s rival team when the ball game became very physical.
Bucao said a heated argument between him and Gadiano occurred at the height of the game resulting to the alleged threat.
Bucao, who reported the incident at the Talisay City Police Station, claimed that the police officer asked in vernacular, “Isog ka? Wala ka kaila nako? Unsa may gusto nimo dili naka ka tung-tong diri sa Bliss?”
Bucao took it as a threat prompting him to have the incident reported at the police station.
Gadiano’s superior officer, Sr. Supt. Mariano Batiancila, said he will leave the Talisay City police to conduct the investigation.
He however said that a parallel investigation may be conducted by him if the complainant files a separate complaint before his office. — (FREEMAN)
