Garcia, three agencies sign contracts

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia yesterday signed a contract with three manpower agencies which will take over the janitorial services and other professional services at the Capitol effective January 1.

Perfect Clean General Services and the joint venture of LBP Service Corporation and Best Source Professionals, Inc. will take the place of the Mandaue Integrated Manpower Services, whose contract was terminated by Garcia for alleged loss of trust and confidence.

Perfect Clean General Services will provide the medical, paramedical, and janitorial services while the joint venture of LBP Service Corporation and Best Source Professionals will provide the other professional services.

Marietta Bucao, general manager of Perfect Clean based in Bulacao, Talisay City, LBP president Rosemarie Leviste, and Nestor Garcia, chairman and president of Best Source, signed the contract with the provincial government.

The supply of manpower requirements for medical, paramedical, nursing, and allied services, which will be “on call” basis, will be assigned to the 16 district hospitals and other facilities of the province.

Bucao said more or less 300 employees will be deployed for the medical services and a total of 58 janitors.

The janitors will be assigned at the buildings of the Capitol, Legislative, and BAEX, at the Cebu International Convention Center, Museo Sugbo, Cebu Cultural Center, Cebu South Bus Terminal, Larsian stalls, Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, and Farmer’s Training Center in Barili.

Bucao said they will absorb some Capitol-assigned employees of MIMS whose performances are good.

The entrance positions which will be provided by LBP and Best Source include utility worker/laundry worker, construction maintenance man, clerk/carpenter/painter/plumber, cook for district hospitals, and accounting clerk/welder/driver.

The positions also include medical equipment technician, draftsman/museum technician, daycare worker, laboratory inspector, agricultural technologist/museum researcher, Accountant I/Engineering I, and Engineering II. — (FREEMAN)
