Eight men accused of mauling two persons
CEBU, Philippines - Eight persons were charged with physical injuries for mauling two men at the Vudu restobar, at Crossroads, Barangay Banilad, Cebu City on the evening of Dec. 11.
Of the eight persons, only three were identified as Tonyson Lee, of Jones Ave., Cebu City; Cleon Manuel, of Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City; and his brother Nicholas Manuel.
The five others were charged at large before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
The charges came after Xavier Romero-Salas Streegan, 19, of Paseo Annette, Maria Luisa Park, Banilad and his companion Eduardo Streegan Montenegro, 21, of Maria Luisa Village, Banilad, complained to the Talamban Police Station that they were mauled by the assailants.
Streegan alleged that they were about to leave the place about 2 a.m. on Dec. 11 onboard a green Honda CRV with Montenegro seated in the driver’s seat when the assailants appeared.
One of the assailants reportedly opened the door where Streegan was and other assailants punched and hit him in the face several times.
Montenegro went out of the car and tried to defend Streegan but was also attacked.
Streegan sought for help to the security guard on duty but as the guard arrived, the assailants were already out of sight.
Montenegro was rushed to the Mactan Doctor’s University Hospital for treatment.
Charges were feild against the assailants with the aid of a witness. (FREEMAN)
