CEBU, Philippines - Two suspected drug pushers, including a woman, were arrested during separate police operations in Cebu City and Cordova last Friday.
Celsa Tejada Olalo, 43, of Ermita, Cebu City and Carlos Tajanlangit, 50, of Bangbang, Cordova were arrested in a buy-bust operation and saturation drive, respectively.
Olalo, who said to be a big time pusher in Ermita, was arrested inside her house at 11:20 pm Friday after selling a pack of shabu to an undercover policeman. A police decoy bought P200 worth of shabu leading to her arrest.
Joint police operatives from the City Intelligence Branch, Investigation and Detective Management Branch, Theft and Robbery Section and Public Safety Company later recovered 28 small packs of shabu inside her house.
The police also confiscated P3,250 cash believed to be proceeds of her illegal operations on that day.
CIB chief Romeo Santander said Olalo had been supplying drugs in Pasil, Duljo-Fatima and Lorega San Miguel for several years now.
“She is a big-time pusher, unya dugay na pud ni namo siya gi-monitor,” Santander said.
Following the buy-bust operation, the police immediately conducted saturation drive in Ermita but arrested no one else.
Olalo is currently detained at the Cebu City Police Office while charges for violation of Article 2, Section 5 and Section 11, of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared for filing on Monday.
In Cordova, Tajanlangit was arrested in possession of eight packs of shabu during a saturation drive Friday afternoon.
SPO1 Laurencio Wagwag of the Cordova Police Station said his fellow policemen were on a routine patrol in Barangay Bangbang when they noticed the suspect handing over suspicious object to two unidentified men.
The team led by PO2 Charlie Valmoria approached the suspect because he was acting suspiciously. However, the two unidentified men scampered upon seeing the policemen.
The police immediately held Tajanlangit and found the suspected packs of shabu in his pocket. Subsequently Tajanlangit was placed under arrest. (FREEMAN)
