Man kills self; carpenter shot dead

CEBU, Philippines - A 26-year-old man ended his life by putting the muzzle of his revolver in his mouth before he pulled its trigger on Wednesday shortly before 10:00 in the evening inside his house in Barangay Punod, Pinamungajan.

Police said that victim Eleazer Suchisa, married, committed suicide after a heated argument ensued between him and his live-in partner Jackelene Sato, 27.

Police said that both were already lying in bed when Sato asked Suchisa if his wife is pregnant but the victim did not answer.

This reportedly made the girl break up with Suchisa so he could give more time to his wife.

This allegedly started the argument prompting Sato to go outside the house. When she was outside, Sato heard a single gunshot.

Sato alleged that she ran back inside the room and found her live-in partner. She sought assistance from their neighbors and rushed Suchisa to the Pinamungajan District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police found the .38 revolver loaded with three bullets and one empty shell.

Meanwhile, a carpenter who was sleeping at the kiosk adjacent to his house in Sitio Purok 6, Barangay Tugbungan, Consolacion died on the spot after he was shot by a still unidentified assailant at about 11:30 in the evening on Wednesday.

Police remain clueless on the identity of the person who killed Maximiano Herosa, 47, who succumbed to a gunshot wound on his right chest. He was rushed to the Eversley Sanitarium Hospital in Barangay Jagobiao, Cebu City but was declared dead on arrival.

PO2 Jhonaskie Romero, of the Consolacion Police Station, said that Maximiano was sleeping at the kiosk outside their house while his wife, Genie Herosa, 46, and their children were sleeping inside their room when they heard four bursts of gunfire.

A few minutes later, Genie went outside the house and saw the lifeless body of Maximiano in a pool of blood.

Police recovered four empty shells of a 9mm caliber pistol which they believe was used by the suspect who is still the subject of a manhunt operation.  (FREEMAN)
