P1.8M Nubain haul: Police eye admin raps versus nurse
CEBU, Philippines - An administrative complaint will be filed before the Professional Regulation Commission against a registered nurse who was caught in possession of P1.8 million worth of Nubain during a buy-bust operation last week.
Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Branch chief Supt. Henry Biñas said that this is aside from the criminal charges that they are filing today against Loenarda Macauyag Lim.
Biñas said Lim will be charged today for violation of sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He said the administrative complaint will follow as soon as necessary documents to prove that Lim is a registered nurse are available.
A check on the PRC website shows that there is a registered nurse by the name of Leonarda M. Lim.
Lim, 55, resident of lower Pakigne, Minglanilla was arrested by PIDMB operatives last Friday at the parking lot of Gaisano Tabunok for selling 2,000 ampules of Nubain to an undercover police officer during a buy-bust.
Police operatives arranged a P600,000 deal with Lim after a two-week surveillance operation. Subsequent to Lim’s arrest, the police recovered 4,000 ampules more from her possession.
The police estimated that the total worth of Nubain seized from Lim would reach up to P1.8 million. Based on the packaging and the label of the boxes confiscated from Lim, the police believe that the regulated drugs came from Pakistan.
“Base lang sa label, Pakistan gikan pero dili pud ta sigurado kay pwede imit lang,” Biñas told The FREEMAN.
Lim is said to be the sole distributor of Nubain in Metro Cebu specifically in Minglanilla, Talisay City and Kamagayan, Cebu City. — (FREEMAN)
