Cebu graduates top naval architecture and marine engineering exams

CEBU, Philippines - Three graduates from the University of Cebu (UC) grabbed the top three ranks in the latest Naval Architect & Marine Engineer Licensure Examination administered by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) in Manila last October 11, 2011.

UC President Augusto W. Go said he is very proud that three of his 25 graduates who took the licensure examinations have garnered the top ranks, giving honor to the school and to Cebu City in general.

Neil Nardo grabbed the top rank after he got 91.40 percent, followed by Jason Pegarido who got 90.10 percent, and Maria Regielou Celis with 87.80 percent.

 The PRC officials announced that there were only 52 examinees who took the Naval Architect & Marine Engineer Licensure Examination.

Of the number, 24 passed the test, with 15 from the University of Cebu.

 There were no examinees from other schools in Cebu City. The rest of the examinees were from four schools in Manila and other places of the country.

The PRC said the issuance of the Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on October 19 but not later than October 24, 2011. (FREEMAN)
