CH to spend P.6M for Halloween
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City government has allocated over P600,000 for the packed meals of the 700 peacekeeping personnel in the coming All Souls and All Saints Day.
The Cebu City Council passed the resolution authored by Councilor Sisinio Andales requesting for P693,000 to defray for the packed meals of the policemen, tanods and other peace-keeping volunteers who will be deployed in the 11 cemeteries of the city for three starting October 31.
Mayor Michael Rama has approved the amount which will be charged against the Pagcor funds.
Andales said that providing food to the peace keepers will encourage them not to abandon their respective posts during their three-day duty to maintain peace and order in the cemeteries.
As early as now, the city has already started the preparations for the observance of the All Souls and All Saints Day.
Rama is scheduled to call a meeting with the police and traffic officials, barangay captains of the barangays where the 11 cemeteries are situated to discuss their preparations. (FREEMAN)
