CEBU, Philippines - For the second time, he escaped another attack to end his life.
Councilman Bobby Morados of San Roque, Cebu City was driving his car with his wife on their way to their junkshop in Barangay Lahug when two men onboard a motorcycle opened fire at him along Imus Road around 8:30 p.m. yesterday.
The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder, was rushed to Chong Hua Hospital where he is currently recuperating. His wife was unhurt.
Since August, Morados had reportedly requested additional security due to threats to his life.
On August 31, Morados escaped unhurt when a motorcycle-riding gunman shot him near his store along Logarta Street.
Yesterday was also the death anniversary of his son, Lawrence, who was shot dead on October 4, 2007.
Police investigators believed last night’s shooting could be related to the previous attempt on Morados’ life. – (FREEMAN)
