CEBU, Philippines - A 57-year-old paralytic woman was found dead while two men were injured in separate stabbing incidents in Cebu City yesterday dawn.
The body Elizabeth Buquita of sitio Lawis Riverside, Barangay Pasil was found floating by pumpboat passengers off Pasil Fish Port around 5:20 a.m. yesterday.
The victim’s son, Welmer, said her mother left their house around 1 a.m. to visit his brother who works at the fish port.
“Naanad man ni ang biktima nga mo-bisita sa iyang anak nga kargador didto sa fish port (It’s the victim’s daily routine to visit her son at the fish port),” said homicide investigator PO3 Eduardo Manatad.
Manatad said the victim may have suffered a stroke and slipped off a bridge while on her way to the fish port.
Meanwhile, Jove Cartalia, 33, of Paknaan, Mandaue City and Ramon Agrabilo, 51, of Maria Christina Extension, Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City were injured in separate stabbing incidents.
Cartalia was drinking with his friends at a videoke bar in Barangay Tejero when stabbed by an unidentified assailant.
Manatad, who also investigated the case, said the victim’s attacker was also drinking at the videoke. “Gikalitan ra gyud ni ang biktima og dunggab. Tuo nako nga gikasuyaan ni siya,” he said.
The assailant and his friends immediately fled and were chased by the victim’s friends, who were shot at with an unidentified firearm. No one was hit.
Meanwhile, Ramon Agrabio, 51, a construction worker, of Maria Christina, Barangay Kamputhaw, was stabbed while eating at an eatery along MC. Briones Street Sunday evening.
The victim was eating noodles with a friend when two unidentified men suddenly approached him and stabbed him in the neck.
“Gi-tripingan ra gyud to ang biktima, kay human gi-dunggab mitakas ra pud dayon ang mga nanunggab,” PO4 Alex Dacua told The FREEMAN.
Dacua also said they are eying the drug angle as the reason for the attack. (FREEMAN)
