Suspected pusher shot dead
CEBU, Philippines - A suspected drug pusher was found dead with a lone gunshot wound on his head inside a house in Barangay Matab-ang, Toledo City past noon last Friday.
Police identified the fatality as Samuel Arnaiz, 22, single, and a resident of the nearby Barangay Arpili, Balamban town. The suspect was not identified.
SPO3 Carmilito Hornales of Toledo City Police Station said the victim was found dead inside the house of one Reynaldo Toquero, where the victim earlier asked permission to take a nap.
Information gathered by the police showed that at past 12 noon last Friday, an unidentified person entered the house unnoticed by Toquero and other family members.
The assailant then approached the victim and shot him at close range before escaping.
The bullet entered the victim’s left ear and exited through the right temple. He died on the spot.
Responding policemen recovered two sachets of suspected shabu, two rolled tinfoils, and a cellular phone from the victim’s possession.
Two empty shells of a caliber .38 revolver believed to be those fired by the assailant were also recovered from the crime scene.
The police immediately interviewed the owner of the house to gather more information on the incident and are looking into the angle of illegal drugs as the main motive of the attack.
“Gani duna’y nigawas nga mga tabi-tabi nga na-numbling ang biktima og mao karoy gisubay sad sa nagpadayong imbestigasyon,” Hornales said. (FREEMAN)
