Incoming and outgoing PRO-7 chiefs visit Gwen

-

CEBU, Philippines - Days before the turning over of command of the Police Regional Office-7, outgoing Director Chief Supt. Ager Ontog Jr. and incoming Director Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo visited Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia yesterday.

Ontog thanked Garcia for her support especially to the Cebu Provincial Police Office and to her leadership in their anti-criminality campaign.

“She has been very, very good to us not only on supporting our law enforcers but also in giving advice to us and providing us with the basic needs of the policemen especially in the Province of Cebu,” Ontog said.

Ontog is expected to be assigned to Camp Crame for his promotional status.

Garbo said that he is not new in the region since he was assigned as deputy regional director for operations of PRO-7 from 2008 to 2010.

“I feel I’ll be at home with the Central Visayas command of the national police,” he said.

He told the media his priorities will anchor on the priority programs of the PNP chief.

Garbo also said he will support Garcia.

“Personally I can say that the governor is a hands-on governor. I’ve been here, I had watched her administration, her governance, I’m a fan of her,” Garbo said.

Regarding the anti-human trafficking campaign, Garbo said he will continue his coordination with the International Justice Mission.

Garbo said that he had closely coordinated with IJM when he was deputy director for operations for PRO-7 and he was the one who had pushed them to work with police.

Garbo is the current Deputy Director of the Directorate for Operations of Camp Crame, the office serves as the adviser of the Chief PNP as regards the operational aspect of the PNP in general. (FREEMAN)
