CEBU, Philippines - Constant teasing allegedly led a person with disability (PWD) to stab his neighbor at Pasture Street, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City on Wednesday evening.
Ramil Ocaña, 49 of the said place stabbed his neighbor, Monching Luntag, 49 on Wednesday after he allegedly teased Ocaña for his disability at around 8 p.m.
Ocaña said Luntag had been teasing him for a long time and always teases him when they see each other.
“Hapit na lang gyud kada adlaw na siya sir magbiay-biay nako, labi na nga nagtinda ra ko sa kilid sa ilang balay (He teases me nearly everyday, especially since I am just selling right beside their house),” Ocaña told The FREEMAN.
Ocaña who is on a wheelchair, reportedly stabbed the victim in the middle of a heated argument with another neighbor, Jeffrey Talabiro, minutes from the stabbing.
When Luntag saw the two fighting, he reportedly approached the two and tried to pacify them but instead, Ocaña who was managing a small eatery, took a knife and stabbed the victim on the left side of his body.
The victim was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center for medical attention while Ocaña surrendered to the responding team from the Mabolo Police Station.
In an interview, Ocaña said he was just fed up with what Luntag has been doing to him adding that he could not have done it if not for the victim’s constant badgering.
“Nawala lang gyud ko sa akong huna-huna sir. Tungod na gyud to sa akong kasuko mao nga ako to nabuhat (I just lost it sir. It was probably because I was already so angry that I did it),” he said.
Though the suspect is confined in a wheelchair, Luntag reportedly filed a case against the suspect for physical injuries.
Ocaña is currently detained at the Cebu City Police Office detention cell awaiting formal charges against him at the Cebu City Prosecutors office. (FREEMAN)
