DepEd promotes Eco-tech center

CEBU, Philippines - The Department of Education pushed its Eco-tech Center on the occasion of its 22nd founding anniversary.

DepEd-7 director Recaredo Borgonia said the center, which is situated on a 4.9-hectare compound in Sudlon, Lahug, is a perfect venue for teachers’ trainings and seminars in the Visayas.

It has 12 buildings and five large conference rooms that can accommodate 60 to 120 people each. There are also three medium-sized rooms that can accommodate 50 to 60 people and has 19 dormitory rooms.

“The DepEd Eco-tech Center is a quite place that has a spectacular view of nature. It is a training center that is close to nature,” Borgonia said, adding that what is more significant to the training center was that not a single centavo was spent by the national government.

Borgonia said the center caters to all types of seminars and trainings not only of government agencies but of private organizations as well.

The Eco-tech Center was acquired by DepEd for P9 million from then Ministry of Human Settlement. – (FREEMAN)
