ERUF celebrates 25th anniversary

CEBU, Philippines - The Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) celebrated its 25th anniversary in front of one of the big malls in Mandaue City by showing their capabilities in rescue operation.

ERUF Operations Head Medardo Batiller said their celebration showcase their emergency medical services, fire rescues, extractions of vehicles, search and rescue operations, hazardous materials rescue and building collapse rescue.

In their 25 years of serving the people, ERUF assured that they will boost not just their skills and knowledge but also their resources in rescue operations. 

“Kami pirmi nag uplift sa among mga skills and equipments para makatabang sa mga tawo nga nanginahanglan during sa mga accidents,” Batiller said.

The celebration was attended Mayor Jonas Cortes, Vice mayor Glen Bercede and guests from international communities to include Netherlands and Australia.

In line with their celebration, a fun run was conducted which started at 5:15 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. yesterday and was open to all.

After the fun run, they then held a demonstration of their capabilities by showing different kinds of rescue.

ERUF is a non-government organization founded on service with a mission to have “a safer and peaceful community attained through a service-oriented paramedic organization inspired by Fraternal Volunteerism.”

Its vision is to “save lives and mitigate loss of property against accidents and calamities through the setting up of a nationwide paramedic network to competently provide emergency medical and pre-hospital care, rescue and rehabilitation services as well as training program that can effectively respond to the needs of the community.” — (FREEMAN)
