CEBU, Philippines - An alleged drug pusher who was believed to have failed in remitting the proceeds of his illegal drug business was shot dead by two unidentified men while inside his house at F. Ralota St., Barangay Poblacion, Danao City.
Rey Perez Bacamante, 38, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died while being taken to the Danao District Hospital.
Police said Bacamante was delousing his daughter inside his house when the two men entered and repeatedly shot him, hitting him in the left leg, right armpit, right side of the chest and back.
Police were able to recover three empty shells of a .45 cal. pistol and a deformed slug of an undetermined firearm possibly used by the second assailant. Also, found were several drug paraphernalia believed to be owned by Bacamante.
Police suspected that revenge was the motive of the crime after the victim allegedly failed to remit the undisclosed proceeds of his drug business.
The victim’s house also served as a drug den, police said.
Bacamante was reportedly a big-time pusher in the barangay and in the watchlist of the police.
Police said they are now planning to secure the girl who may serve as a witness in the killing. – (FREEMAN)
