Seven Cebu grads among top nursing board passers
CEBU, Philippines - Seven examinees from schools in Cebu City ranked among the top passers of the July 2011 Nurse Licensure Examination.
The Cebu Normal University, along with two other schools, also topped the top 10 performing schools in the exams.
Cebu Doctor’s University’s Patricia Teodoro Pintac landed fourth place with a rating of 87 percent.
He is followed by CNU examinee Jacob Cabrera Reyes, who ranked sixth along with six others with a rating of 86.60 percent, CNU examinee Lowel Andrew Andales Batomalaque ranked eighth also with six others, including Cebu Velez College’s Cherryl Joyce Cabatingan Tan, with 86.20 percent.
Thea Mae Medalla Baronda of Cebu Velez College ranked ninth with 86 percent.
Jane Febe Booc Cabatingan of CNU and CDU’s Deo Robert Bodiongan Castro shared tenth place with 21 others at 85.80 percent.
CNU, along with West Visayas State University-La Paz and University of the Philippines-Manila, was declared the top performing school with 50 or more examinees getting at least 80 percent.
All three posted a 100 percent passing rate; CNU with 181, West Visayas State University-La Paz with 161, and University of the Philippines-Manila with 57.
They were followed in second place by the University of Santo Tomas with a passing rate of 99.79 percent, the Trinity University of Asia-Quezon City with a 99.74 passing rate, and the Chinese General Hospital College of Nursing and Liberal Arts at 99.22 percent.
Saint Paul University-Iloilo ranked fifth with 99.22 passing rate, followed by Saint Paul-Dumaguete at 99.04 percent, Saint Louis University at 98.50 percent, University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center at 98.13 percent, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology at 97.92 percent and De La Salle University-Health Sciences Institute at 97.80 percent.
The PCR announced that 37,513 out of 78,135 passed the Nurse Licensure Examination given by the Board of Nursing in Cebu, Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Dagupan, Iloilo, La Union, Legazpi, Nueva Ecija, Pagadian, Pampanga, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga and Tacloban. —/BRP (FREEMAN)
