Capitol: Kuwaiti police hunting Cebuana's boyfriend

CEBU, Philippines -  The Kuwaiti police are already looking for the American boyfriend of the Cebuana overseas worker who was found dead recently to shed light on the incident, said the Capitol’s chief of staff.

Capitol’s chief of staff Elizabeth Francia said this was among the latest information they have gathered from the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait regarding the death of 32-year-old Juvy Montesoso.

Francia said they have already talked to the protocol officer and the assistance to national officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs regarding Montesoso’s case.

Francia said that the ATN official told her that they have already received official communication from the Kuwait Embassy regarding Montesoso’s death.

“Karon, under investigation pa sa Kuwaiti Police. They still have to hear the side of the American boyfriend of Juvy,” Francia said.

Arab Times reported earlier that Montesoso was with her American boyfriend the night before she was found dead. The report quoted the victim’s cousin saying that, Montesoso and her boyfriend has been going steady for nine months already.   The Cebu Provincial Government is helping the family of the victim gather information surrounding her death because they don’t believe that she jumped off the building where she worked as a receptionist. Francia further said all of Montesoso’s belongings were already turned over to the Embassy.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has assured to help the family in the repatriation of the body, after learning that the DFA technically does not spend for such matter. The victim’s employer, according to the family, did not also manifest interest to spend for the shipping of the corpse, Francia said.

The embassy told them that the shipping will probably take 30 days.

Montesoso, who worked as receptionist in Tala Hotel in Fintas, Kuwait, was found dead last August 5 at the hotel’s basketball court after allegedly falling off from the hotel’s eighth floor. — (FREEMAN)
