CEBU, Philippines - An errand boy lost P500,000 cash to two men on board a motorcycle at the corner of Magallanes and El Filibusterismo Streets in Barangay Pasil yesterday morning.
Arnold Egurola, 48, was supposed to deposit his employer’s money to the bank when held up.
A report of the Carbon Police Station said Egurola was driving his mountain bicycle towards a bank along P. Burgos Street at past 10 am when the suspects, who were traveling in the same direction, suddenly blocked his way.
The man riding in pillion then alighted from the motorcycle, pulled out a gun and declared a hold up. The two suspects reportedly wore full-faced helmets.
Consumed by fear, Egurola handed the bag that contained the money to the suspects. The suspects reportedly fled towards the direction of the Cebu City Hall. Egurola drove towards the police station to report the incident.
PO1 Dennis Ornopia said the police station’s chief, Senior Insp. Renero Agustion, immediately deployed a team to the crime scene for an ocular investigation. Egurola described the man with the gun to be slim built and standing 5’4 tall.
Ornopia said the angle of a “rob me” incident is being considered in the investigation. (FREEMAN)
