Town mayor's son in road rampage
CEBU, Philippines - A car driven by the son of Ronda town mayor allegedly rammed nine cars in a road rampage in Barangay Carreta, Cebu City yesterday dawn.
Police believed that Mark Gregory Magtuba, 23, resident of Barangay Poblacion, Ronda, was drunk during the incident which occurred at 2:45 a.m.
Cebu City Police Office traffic investigator SPO3 Ramon Budiongan said that Blanco was driving his Isuzu Trooper on his way to a mall in north reclamation area when he hit eight cars parked along MJ Cuenco Avenue.
Two public utility jeepneys, three multicabs, a pickup truck and two other cars were damaged.
Budiongan said Magtuba did not stop and instead turned to General Maxilom Avenue and continued to A. Soriano Street.
While driving along A. Soriano Street, Magtuba’s car also allegedly hit another car driven by Vicente Sumalinog Arnado, 42, of Barangay Jubay, Lilo-an town. Arnado came from the port area and was heading to Barangay Carreta where he encountered Magtuba’s car.
After hitting Arnado’s car, Magtuba continued until his car crashed into a traffic light along A. Soriano Street.
He sustained wounds to his face and bruises to various parts of his body.
Magtuba was brought by the police to the Cebu City Medical Center for treatment and liquor test. — (FREEMAN)
