CPPO tops in most administrative cases
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Police Office has the most personnel facing administrative charges among police headquarters in Central Visayas from January to June this year.
Among seven headquarters in Region-7, CPPO tops the list with having the most administrative cases, according to the Regional Personnel and Human Resources and Doctrine Division of the Police Regional Office-7.
The CPPO has 23 personnel facing administrative charges; Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office, 9; Bohol Provincial Police Office, 8; and Mandaue City Police Office, 3.
The Cebu City Police Office and Regional Training School-7 have each one case, while Siquijor Provincial Police Office and Lapu-Lapu City Police Office have both none.
Senior Inspector Jose Gesto, chief of Discipline, Law and Order Section of the RPHRDD, told The FREEMAN that the increase in administrative charges against some policemen only showed that they are trying to correct their mistakes.
Senior Superintendent Patrocinio Comendador, CPPO provincial director, said the province has most number of cases since they are really investigating complaints against their personnel.
Comendador said what he could do is only to send referrals and recommendations to the PRO7.
He said he could already dispose some of the cases but he has no power to do so unless he is appointed by Camp Crame as the official provincial director.
Comendador also admits that handling the province is not easy since he has one of the biggest areas of responsibility.
Cebu has 45 municipalities and six component cities. (FREEMAN)
