CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Board has expressed kudos to The FREEMAN newspaper on the occasion of its 92nd anniversary yesterday.
The PB during its regular session yesterday approved a resolution congratulating The FREEMAN. This was sponsored by PB Members Julian Daan and Sergio Restauro.
The PB said that The FREEMAN newspaper has been in existence for 92 years, a rare feat of a publication which has been serving and earning the trust of the Cebuano people up to this time.
“The chronicling of events happening in Cebu and the rest of the region has been reported in The FREEMAN fairly and fearlessly thereby making it as the number one newspaper in circulation,” the resolution reads.
The FREEMAN in celebrating its 92nd anniversary, is a testament that it is the undisputed, longest running newspaper in Cebu and still continue to meet the expectations of the reading public as a good and reliable newspaper in the region despite the advent of digital age, it further reads.
The FREEMAN chairman Jose “Dodong” Gullas, president Miguel Belmonte, vice chairman John Vicente Gullas, general manager Melandro Mendoza and publisher Juanito Jabat were among top officials who attended the celebration yesterday.
A holy mass and the blessing of newly furnished function hall at the fourth floor of the Philippine Star building highlighted the celebration. — /NLQ - (THE FREEMAN)
