Moneylender killed in Tabogon
CEBU, Philippines - A 65-year-old businesswoman was killed by four unidentified men inside her house in sitio Tamban, Barangay Taba-o, Tabogon last Saturday afternoon.
Although nothing was stolen from Teresita Comedido, the police believe that robbery was the motive behind the crime.
Comedido operates a videoke house and a sari-sari store in their barangay. She is also engaged in lending business.
Tabogon police chief Alexander Ancao said the victim sustained a lacerated wound in her neck and a stab wound. Comedido also have contusions and bruises in her face.
Ancao believes that the people responsible for the crime were neophyte robbers because of the indications that they panicked after killing the victim. He said this is evident when they failed to get anything from the victim and left the kitchen knife used as murder weapon.
“Tungod sa kakuyaw ug sobrang dali-dali way nadala bisan usa ka sinsilyo,” Ancao said.
Ancao said they have already invited four people for questioning after they were believed to have knowledge of the incident. Ancao however refused to divulge their names yet.
He also could not tell whether they are already suspects to the crime although their testimonies are said to be full of inconsistencies.
“Daghan og inconsistencies sa ilang mga estorya ug ang usa nila mura’g kasumbungon na,” Ancao said.
Ancao believes that the four may not be the ones responsible but have knowledge of the crime. The police suspect that the robbers were known to them. — (FREEMAN)
