Psychoanalysis, medical exam vs. 'child molester'

-

CEBU, Philippines - The Provincial Women’s Commission is now waiting for the result of the psychoanalysis conducted on the four children allegedly molested in Carcar City so that appropriate charges can be leveled against the suspect.

The children were brought to the pink room of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for medical examination yesterday.

Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, PWC co-chairperson, said the results of the medical examination and psych analysis will be integrated with the affidavits of the victims to support the filing of the case.

The grandfather of the supposed victims who reported the incident to authorities will be covered by a Barangay Protection Order after he allegedly received death threats. He has been recommended for the witness protection program of the Department of Justice.

Magpale said the children will undergo stress debriefing on July 8, which will be facilitated by a child care specialist.

Last Thursday, Magpale convened the PWC Technical Working Group for a case conference attended by the social worker, chief of police and women’s desk officer of the Carcar City Police Station, barangay captain and tanod.

The children, ages two, seven, eight and 11, were allegedly molested by a 64-year-old male relative. Children’s accounts revealed that there was an attempt to molest one of them twice.  (FREEMAN)
