Man misses flight after three men rob him in Consolacion

CEBU, Philippines - A man missed his flight after three armed robbers preyed on him while he was waiting for a ride to the airport early morning yesterday in Barangay Pitogo, Consolacion.

Hanzel Magalso, 36, a resident of Sheena Homes Subdivision in the said barangay was waiting for a ride around 5 a.m. when three motorcycle-riding men robbed him and ran away with his traveling bag containing two laptops worth P100,000; digital camera worth P13,000; his wallet with P1,340 cash inside; assorted cards and pertinent documents.

PO3 Allen Garciano of the Consolacion Police Station said the victim was standing beside the road when the three men, who were boarding a motorcycle, approached and stopped in front of him.

The two back riders then disembarked and helped one another and hit Magalso’s back with a gun and took his traveling bag, which also contained his plane ticket.

The victim said the motorcycle had no plate number. Magalso immediately went to the police station to report the robbery.

Garciano said dawn robbery has lately become rampant in their area and they are addressing it by intensifying their operations to catch the criminals.   - (THE FREEMAN)
