CEBU, Philippines - Governor Gwendolyn Garcia will stay in Bantayan Island for three days starting today to inaugurate and distribute projects in the island.
This afternoon, Garcia will inaugurate a two-classroom school building in Mancilang, Madridejos and will turn over a computer for the school’s Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) and distribute school supplies to students.
Another two-classroom school building will be inaugurated in San Agustin National High School and in Tabagak Elementary School, both in Madridejos.
Afterwards, Garcia will proceed to barangay Baod in Bantayan town to inaugurate the road concreting project and multi-purpose building.
Tomorrow, Garcia will inaugurate two school buildings and turn over school supplies and a computer to ECCD at the Sta. Fe National High School. One of the school buildings has two classrooms while the other has four classrooms.
In the afternoon, Garcia will grace the Palawod Festival Showdown in Bantayan and will be back to Cebu City on Thursday.
Last March, Garcia also inaugurated various projects in the municipalities of Bantayan and Sta. Fe. She inaugurated the Balidbid Bridge, a concreted road in Barangay Pooc, the Senior Citizens and Library Building, and the Sta. Fe Training Center Building.
She went to the island barangay of Lipayran for the inauguration of an electrification project. A 45-minute boat ride from the mainland Bantayan, Lipayran Islet is now energized through the nearest islet barangay of Doong. - (THE FREEMAN)
