Pique case Bella Ruby's camp seeks DNA results

CEBU, Philippines - Lawyer Rameses Victorious Villagonzalo asked Camp Crame for the result of the DNA test on the vehicle, the house and the bloodstained bedsheets of Bella Ruby Santos.

This is after Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador and Criminal Investigation and Detective Group lawyer Inocencio dela Cerna said that they do not need data from the DNA testing as their evidence is already enough.

Villagonzalo said on Wednesday they will file a motion for reconsideration to the ruling of the three-man panel that was approved by Acting Provincial Prosecutor England Joseph Berciles for the filing of the case.

Villagonzalo said in filing the said motion Santos will come along with him proving she will not hide even if a warrant of arrest was issued against her.

Santos is accused in the abduction and killing of six-year-old Ellah Joy Pique last February.

Earlier the three-man panel found probable cause to indict Santos and her boyfriend, Briton Ian Charles Griffiths.

As part of monitoring Santos, Task Force Ellah Joy is now spreading her pictures in various seaports, terminals and airports to prevent her from eluding arrest once the warrant is released.

Comendador, head of Task Force Ellah Joy, said the PNP is now closely coordinating with the International Police and the British police for the possible arrest of Griffiths.

“Hinuon dili mi ingon maglisod og arrest ni Griffiths kay the case he is facing involves a minor and though he’s on bail but he can’t get out of the country,” Comendador said.

Even if Santos once claimed she will face the case for kidnapping with homicide filed against her, the police are taking no chances.

“As experience-wise, dili gyud na padakop ang tao nga naay non-bailable nga kaso,” Comendador said. —(FREEMAN)
