Lovers robbed of P100T worth of valuables
CEBU, Philippines - Two motorcycle-riding men robbed two people of their cash and almost P100,000 worth of belongings in Barangay Pitogo, Consolacion early morning yesterday.
The victims were identified as Zeigfred Tumala, 29, a resident of the said place and her alleged girlfriend Cristina Gutierrez, 26, of D. Jakosalem Street, Cebu City.
PO2 Johnaskie Romero of the Consolacion Police, based on accounts of witnesses, the two were standing along the national highway at the vicinity of Garden Bloom Acres around 4 a.m. when two men riding in pillion on a motorcycle stopped in front of them.
The victims were allegedly waiting for a bus on their way to Daanbantayan to attend a friend’s wedding when the suspects appeared.
The man on the back ride then alighted from the motorcycle, a mixed black-and-white Honda XRM, and pointed an undetermined caliber of gun at the victims while declaring a hold-up.
Upon the demand of the robbers, the victims heeded and gave away their P6,000 cash; a DSLR digital camera worth P45,000; four cellular phones; Swiss bag; shoulder bag; assorted clothes; assorted cards and eyeglasses.
After the robbery, the two men sped off towards Lilo-an town, where they are believed to be residing, while the victims reported the incident to Consolacion Police Station. They failed to get the plate number of the motorcycle.
Romero said a road sweeper witnessed the robbery but also failed to recognize the suspects. - (THE FREEMAN)
