CPPO releases list of Cebu's most wanted

- Ria Mae Y. Booc -

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Police Office intelligence branch yesterday released the list of the top 10 most wanted criminals in the province.

Senior Superintendent Teofilo Siclot, deputy provincial director for operations, said the list was based on the consolidated reports of the intelligence branch and the investigation and detection management branch in coordination with the Cebu Provincial Anti-Criminality Task Force.

“This is one way of showing that the provincial government and the Cebu Provincial Police Office strengthen its campaign in maintaining peace and order,” Siclot said.

Topping the list of the most wanted persons in Cebu are Federito Regalado, Sonny Macapaz, Roger Deloy, Bryan Repuela, Jerson Cohitmingaw, Jay Mark Cuizon, Manolito Aleonar, Eliser Benoya, Melchor Batiller and Paulino Rosales.

Except for Rosales who is facing a rape case, all other wanted criminals are facing murder cases.

Siclot said he is proposing to the provincial government a P50,000 reward for the capture of each of them.

According to Siclot, tipsters are not required to be with the police operatives during the arrest as long as the information he or she gave would lead to the successful operation.

The proposed reward however is still subject to the approval of Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, since the provincial government will give the amount.

The cash reward will encourage tipsters to give information to the law enforcers. Siclot clarified that police personnel will not be entitled to receive the reward.

Even if Siclot admitted the possibility that most of these wanted criminals may have already left Cebu, but he remains optimistic that the long arm of the law will catch them sooner or later.

The copies of the list of the wanted criminals will be distributed to the different police stations in the province. Tarpaulins with their pictures on it will also be displayed in public areas.

The public is encouraged to contact these numbers 09189795607 for PIB, (032) 414-7030 CPPO operations, and (032) 414-7122 for CPPO hotline should there be any information about the whereabouts of these criminals. —(FREEMAN)
