- Ria Mae Y. Booc -

CEBU, Philippines - A man was shot dead in a secluded area in sitio Kuros-Kuros, Barangay Magsaysay, Balamban last Monday night.

Police said the unidentified man succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. Four empty shells of a .45 pistol and two slugs were recovered from the crime scene.

The man is described to be 5’1” to 5’2” tall, medium built, about 30-40 years old, and has a mustache. He was wearing a white t-shirt, khaki shorts, white cap and a pair of red slippers when found along the transcentral highway. The man’s right leg bore the tattoo of a heart pierced by a knife marked by the name “Juryl”.

It was Jose Baterna, the barangay captain of Magsaysay who found the body and reported the same to the police.

Residents in the area said they heard multiple gunshots coming from the crime scene around 8pm, but saw no one because it was reportedly dark.

PO2 Hannibal Larida, a resident of Talisay City but assigned with the Balamban Police, said the man looks like someone who is involved in carnapping incidents in Talisay. The Balamban police are now coordinating with their counterparts in Talisay to verify the information.

The man’s remains were taken to the Gemma Funeral Homes. – (FREEMAN)
